TrackIR Driving Enhancements - ATS/ETS2 1.41 to 1.53 - Updated 03/01/2025
Re: TrackIR Driving Enhancements
TDE Update v4.6 (1.41-1.43) & v5.6 (1.44+) and associated line edits:
New mods:
TrackIR Driving Enhancements v4.6 (1.41-1.43) & v5.6 (1.44+)
TDE (Unsupported) v4.6 (1.41-1.43) & v5.6 (1.44+)
TDE (g_cam_window_block) v4.6 (1.41-1.43) & v5.6 (1.44+)
Amended - 'Supported only' - Supplied 'CAM 3: Sleeper' presets amended to be positioned behind the passenger seat looking towards the drivers side rather than previously behind the drivers seat looking towards the passenger side.
You can now choose which side of the sleeper area you want to be positioned at, behind drivers seat looking towards passenger side or behind passenger seat looking towards drivers side, just by looking at the required location from either the drivers seat or the passengers seat and pressing 'Action'.
Note 1: This can be disabled if you'd rather always have your preferred sleeper location.
Note 2: Some trucks have transparent driver/passenger seats when viewed from the sleeper area. I've now included some 'CAM 3: ...sleeper top' presets, for those cabs that have a top bunk fitted as well, to avoid seeing the transparent seats.
Demo video available, see post 10.
Amended - Game default external cameras can now be used to drive, without having to disable TDE code via the menu.
CAM 1 - Keyboard 1 - Game standard driving view.
CAM 2 - Keyboard 2 - NEW - Passenger Seat. *** You cannot drive from this camera ***
CAM 3 - Keyboard 3 - NEW - Sleeper Area. *** You cannot drive from this camera ***
CAM 4 - Keyboard 4 - NEW - Outside truck. *** You cannot drive from this camera ***
CAM 5 - Keyboard 5 - Moved - Game standard chase view.
CAM 6 - Keyboard 6 - Moved - Game standard top down view.
CAM 7 - Keyboard 7 - Moved - Game standard roof view.
CAM 8 - Keyboard 8 - Game standard Drive-By view.
CAM 9 - Keyboard 9 - Moved - Game standard bumper view.
CAM 10 - ALT + Keyboard 9 - Moved - Game standard On-Wheel view.
Note 1: You can switch from (cam 1/2/3/4) to (cam 5/6/7/8/9/10) OR switch from (cam 5/6/7/8/9/10) to (cam 1).
Note 2: You can't switch from an external 'driving' camera (cam 5/6/7/8/9/10) to a 'non-driving' camera (cam 2/3/4) to avoid losing control of your truck.
Amended - "Important" - Outside presets have been renamed - These are the new defaults:
For ATS - Edit your config_local.cfg with the following:
uset g_eye_preset_5 "g:CAM 4 RHD ATS - Path Select"
uset g_eye_preset_4 "g:CAM 4 LHD ATS - Path Select"

Re: TrackIR Driving Enhancements
TDE Update:
New - Automatic animated first person movement, when using 'Look Action' to change to/from driver seat, passenger seat, sleeper area or outside.
This new animated movement can be disabled if you prefer to instantly 'switch to' those positions, like previous TDE versions.
Note: To avoid the possible feeling of motion sickness, turn your real head back to the centre of your monitor once the animation starts (TrackIR is disabled during the animation), your real head will then be in the correct position when the animation stops and TrackIR is re-enabled.
Note: YAW remains active during driver to/from passenger seat as this is a single direction movement, therefore you shouldn't need to move your real head during the animation.
Your options are:
'Move to' mode (new TDE default):
Animated first person movement for enter/exit via driver side only.
Animated first person movement for driver seat to/from passenger seat.
Animated first person movement for driver seat to/from sleeper area.
OR
'Switch to' mode:
Instant enter/exit driver side or passenger side.
Instant change for driver seat to/from passenger seat.
Instant change for driver seat to/from sleeper area.
Instant change for passenger seat to/from sleeper area.
See post 6 'Optional edits' for more info.
New - Optional extra mod for changing the outside FOV.
The TDE default 'outside' FOV is 49, if that's too close for you then you can increase it to 55, 60, 65, 70 or 75 by adding one of the 'optional' mods.
See post 6 "Optional edits" for more details.
Due to the 60,000 character limit for forum posts, I've had to make a slight adjustment in the post order.
The required line edits are now spread across post 3 & 4.
The quick start guide is now post 5.
There's no changes required to the current mod versions, v4.6 & v5.6, only the new controls.sii file line edits are required for this update.

Re: TrackIR Driving Enhancements
TDE Update:
New mods for game versions 1.44 to 149:
TrackIR Driving Enhancements v5.61 (1.44-1.49).scs
TDE (Unsupported) v5.61 (1.44-1.49).scs
TDE (g_cam_window_block) v5.61 (1.44-1.49).scs
The above are just renamed from the original v5.6 (1.44+) mods to better identify the game versions they will only work on.
New mods for game version 1.50+:
TrackIR Driving Enhancements v6.0 (1.50+).scs
TDE (Unsupported) v6.0 (1.50+).scs
TDE (g_cam_window_block) v6.0 (1.50+).scs
TDE - Cabin Camera Creator - v6.0 (1.50+).scs
And just to clarify v4.x, v5.x & v6.x of each TDE mod all share the same layout and functionality, choose the one that matches your game version.
Note 1: Using v4.x or v5.x with game version 1.50 will cause a "crash to desktop".
Note 2: All versions work with the current controls.sii line edits.
The new grey ui that comes with game version 1.50 makes TDE v6.0 menu look "washed out"...
![Image](https://i.postimg.cc/br31pLPX/before-after.jpg)
But it does function correctly. I may look into making it look better, if I can, at some point...

Re: TrackIR Driving Enhancements
TDE Update:
Added first person 'walk' animation from outside truck to Service / Showroom, before you enter them.
Driver seat -> Centre real steering wheel -> Look over your shoulder to outside -> Press 'Action' -> Outside.
Look at the entrance door for the Service area or Showroom -> Press & hold 'Action' to walk staight to it, keeping your head still at all times.
Stop pressing 'Action' when you're near to the door, you'll then automatically enter Service / Showroom.
Exit Service / Showroom -> Look up to Driver door window -> Press 'Action' -> Driver seat.
Note: You can still sit in your driving seat and press 'activate', the way SCS want you to do it, if you prefer.
When outside your truck, the 'quick press clutch to step away' function now has a smooth motion instead of an instant jump.
All Demo videos - viewtopic.php?p=46613#p46613
The newly added Renault E-Tech truck to ETS2 version 1.50 isn't currently 'supported' by TDE. TDE functions work best when you own your own truck and this is a 'quick job' 'small distance' truck only.
However, it will work with TDE in 'unsupported' mode.
Note: When you finish a 'quick job' and you're outside the truck the game will auto change you to inside for your next job but the TDE code is still in outside mode... Press '1' to reset the TDE code back to the driving seat.
----------
There's no required mod update, just keep using the currently available ones, TDE v4.6, v5.61 or v6.0 to match your game version.

Re: TrackIR Driving Enhancements
TDE Update:
NEW - TrackIR Driving Enhancements v6.1 (1.50+) mod:
"Renault E-Tech T" and "Scania S BEV" in ETS2 version 1.50 are now 'supported'.
Note: TDE features work best when you own your own trucks, SCS have set these trucks to 'quick jobs' only, due to having no charging points within the game world.
Minor improvement to the way the TDE menu looks.
NEW - TDE (Unsupported) v6.1 (1.50+) & TDE (g_cam_window_block) v6.1 (1.50+):
Minor improvement to the way these TDE menus look.
NEW - TDE Optional outside FOV change - v1.1 mod - "Renault E-Tech T" & "Scania S BEV" are now 'supported'.
Minor fix, within line edits, for first person 'walk' animation from outside truck to Service / Showroom, where looking up would have caused a jump back to outside the drivers door before entering Service / Showroom.
Note: The 'walk' animation is currently disabled when using the optional outside preset 'Always Face Truck'. However, pressing 'Action' (for +1 second) and releasing will still enter Service / Showroom or just press your 'activate' button.

Re: TrackIR Driving Enhancements - ATS/ETS2 1.41 to 1.50 - Updated 08/08/2024
TDE Update:
NEW - 'TDE (Unsupported) v7.0 (1.51+).scs' mod.
NEW - Quick start 'TDE controls 22-09-2024.zip' file.
Important note: Game version 1.51 has now broken TDE (crash to desktop) caused by the games new UI:
The Tobii Eye menu file that I need to modify to create the TDE menu is no longer available from the extracted 1.51 game files, therefore I can't fix the crash that is now occuring when opening the TDE menu...
However, going forward from 1.51 onwards, I can now only supply TDE in a more limited format that won't include the TDE menu, this means:
Game versions 1.41 to 1.50:
TDE in game menu which allows full control of all TDE features.
TDE Cabin camera creator - Position and save your preferred passenger and sleeper presets.
Supported & Unsupported mode.
Game version 1.51+:
No TDE in game menu - You can now only use the supplied CAM1/2/3 presets via the Tobii Eye menu, no adjustments and saving is possible.
No TDE Cabin camera creator - You can only use existing passenger and sleeper presets or the supplied generic templates, no adjustments and saving is possible.
Unsupported mode only.
Due to the limited character space for preset names within the Tobii Eye menu, I've had to shorten the original TDE ones (for 1.51+ mod only), example:
"CAM 2: Unsupported LHD DAF XD Passenger Seat" is now shown as "2UL DAF XD Passenger Seat"
1UL... = CAM 1 Unsupported LHD... Driving preset
1UR... = CAM 1 Unsupported RHD... Driving preset
2UL... = CAM 2 Unsupported LHD... Passenger seat preset
2UR... = CAM 2 Unsupported RHD... Passenger seat preset
3UL... = CAM 3 Unsupported LHD... Sleeper preset
3UR... = CAM 3 Unsupported RHD... Sleeper preset
If you've only ever used the supplied presets with the TDE mod, then not having the TDE menu with all the available adjustments shouldn't be an issue.
See post 2 for the full list of 1.51 preset names.
Game versions 1.41 to 1.51+:
All current TDE features will still work.
NOTE: After updating to 1.51 the game automatically applies 4 new default line edits, that break existing TDE functionality, for:
"mix steering
"mix aforward
"mix abackward
"mix clutch
You need to fix that by re-copy/paste those same TDE line edits (from post 5) into your now 1.51 controls.sii file, the game won't replace them again.
There's no fix required if you choose to use the newly supplied 'quick start' controls.sii file.

Re: TrackIR Driving Enhancements
TDE Update:
NEW Mods, TDE v4.7 (1.41-1.43), v5.7 (1.44-1.49), v6.2 (1.50) & v7.1 (1.51+) and associated line edits.
ADDED - 'support' for Freightliner Cascadia 2024 in TDE v7.1
AMENDED - Outside 'walking' code:
You can now 'walk' by:
Holding your wheel to the left or right, a small amount of rotation away from the centre will speed up or slow down the movement.
Pressing & holding the games 'walk mode' keys (Forward/Left/Right - more info below).
The TDE original 'walking' movement by fully rotating your wheel left/right is still an option, although you will be fighting against your wheels FFB.
Note: You now don't have to have your wheel centered before exiting your truck, but if you're using your wheel to 'walk' then the movement is paused outside the drivers door until you re-center your wheel.
There's 3 modes to choose from:
"Wheel Rotate" = Fully rotating your wheel left/right to provide the walking movement - 'Walk mode' keys disabled.
"Wheel Hold" = Holding your wheel to the left or right to provide the walking movement - 'Walk mode' keys disabled.
"Walk Keys Face Truck" = Press & Hold the 'Forward' 'Walk mode' key whilst looking left/right to provide the walking movement, the movement slows down when looking at the truck/trailer - Steering wheel 'Walking' movement is disabled.
Note: The 'Walk Keys' speed can be adjusted, via 'eyegazeon', to suit your setup, it seems the higher your FPS the faster the 'walking' movement. For best results use vsync or cap your fps.
Adjusting the outside 'walk' path is now variable with smooth movement:
When using 'Wheel modes':
Press 'Brake' Pedal to turn your view and the 'walk' path to the left, the further you press the pedal the faster it will turn.
Press 'Accelerator' Pedal to turn your view and the 'walk' path to the right, the further you press the pedal the faster it will turn.
Stop pressing 'Brake' / 'Accelerator' once the path is in the direction you need it to be, it will hold its position.
Quick Press 'Clutch' to smooth step away from your truck/trailer.
Quick Press 'Clutch' again to smooth step back to your truck/trailer.
OR
When using 'Walk Mode Keys':
Press & Hold 'Walk mode LEFT key' to turn your view and the 'walk' path to the left.
Press & Hold 'Walk mode RIGHT key' to turn your view and the 'walk' path to the right.
Stop pressing 'LEFT' / 'RIGHT' once the path is in the direction you need it to be, it will hold its position.
Quick Press 'Walk mode BACK key' to step away from the truck/trailer(s) - Offset 'walk' path selected.
Quick Press 'Walk mode BACK key' again to return to the originally selected 'walk' path.
Important note, due to the above amendments made to the outside 'walking' code, these replace the original TDE default settings (unless you want to use the new optional ones):
For ATS - Edit your config_local.cfg with the following:
uset g_eye_preset_5 "g:CAM 4 RHD ATS - Wheel Rotate"
uset g_eye_preset_4 "g:CAM 4 LHD ATS - Wheel Rotate"
OR
For ETS2 - Edit your config_local.cfg with the following:
uset g_eye_preset_5 "g:CAM 4 RHD ETS - Wheel Rotate"
uset g_eye_preset_4 "g:CAM 4 LHD ETS - Wheel Rotate"
See Post 06 - Optional edits - for the alternative methods, "...Wheel Hold" & "...Walk Keys Face Truck".
ADDED - 'Head bob' to the outside 'walking' movement, the faster you 'walk' the faster you 'bob'. It now feels more like walking than sliding.
Note: 'Head bob' isn't available in 'Wheel Rotate' mode.
NEW - If you don't have a Wheel and instead drive with a Mouse, Keyboard or Gamepad (but still use TrackIR) then you can now use TDE and all it's features.
Keyboard drivers need the required optional edits in post 6.
Note: Mouse & keyboard drivers have to use "...Walk Keys Face Truck" as the outside 'walking' option.
Gamepad drivers should use "... Wheel Hold" (Steering thumbstick left/right) or "...Walk Keys Face Truck" as the outside 'walking' option.
AMENDED - 'Walk' to Service/Showroom movement. You can now move your head left/right, whilst 'walking', to alter your direction towards the desired destination.
AMENDED - Optional sounds, mods & code. Support for Freightliner Cascadia 2024. See optional edits in post 6.
----------
Note: All TDE line edits now start with `TDE?... so you can easily tell straight away if the TDE code is missing, from any given line, when you're trying to fix problems.
All the TDE required line edits have been amended, re-copy & paste them all into your current TDE controls.sii file.

Re: TrackIR Driving Enhancements
TDE Update:
NEW Mods - TDE v4.8 (1.41-1.43), v5.8 (1.44-1.49), v6.3 (1.50) & v7.2 (1.51+) and associated line edits.
NEW - 'Support' for Iveco S-Way, Volvo FH5 & FH6 in TDE v7.2
NEW - Quick start 'TDE controls 03-01-2025.zip' file.
NEW - TDE Optional outside FOV change - v1.4.zip - Added Iveco S-Way, Volvo FH5 & FH6
NEW - TDE Optional Sounds v1.2.zip - #1 v1.2 & #2 v1.2 - Added Iveco S-Way, Volvo FH5 & FH6
Note: The new (1.53) Iveco S-Way has no air horn accessory available in game and so you won't hear yawning when moving into the sleeper area, with #1.
NEW - 3 new outside 'walking' options to provide a basic 'Free Roam' mode.
You are free to 'walk' around the general area of your truck.
There's no collision active and so you can 'walk' through everything, enabling collision just causes all sorts of strange movements, therefore it's best without.
Your 'walking' height doesn't change (but you can crouch and stand on your tippy toes), you can't 'walk' up a slope, you'll just 'walk' through it. Therefore, for the best experience, only 'walk' around a flat area.
In 'Free Roam' mode only, 'Look Actions' for Refueling & Attach/Detach the trailer are not available as there's no trigger points for them, use game default key/button instead.
Refueling - Stand next to the fuel tank (or anywhere at all) and press & hold your 'Activate' key/button.
Attach/Detach trailer - Stand next to the crank handle (or anywhere at all) and press your Attach/Detach key/button.
Getting back into your truck - Stand next to the drivers door (or anywhere at all) and look up and press 'Action' in the usual TDE way.
Service/Showroom - Whilst parked on the icon, 'walk' into reception area and press 'Activate' key/button. On exit 'walk' back to truck.
You can do the same as the above 'Service/Showroom' option for all other functions that require 'Activate', job select for example.
Options:
'Wheel Hold Free Roam':
Look left/right/up/down/crouch/tippy toes = TrackIR.
Turn view left/right = Wheel steering - Rotate ~90 degrees left/right - Turn speed variable.
Forwards = Accelerator Pedal - The further you press it the faster you will 'walk'/'run'.
Backwards = Brake Pedal - The further you press it the faster you will 'walk'.
'Gamepad Free Roam':
Look left/right/up/down/crouch/tippy toes = TrackIR.
Turn view left/right = Thumbstick steering - Turn speed variable.
Forwards = Accelerator Thumbstick/trigger - The further you press it the faster you will 'walk'/'run'.
Backwards = Brake Thumbstick/trigger - The further you press it the faster you will 'walk'.
'Walk Keys Free Roam':
Look left/right/up/down/crouch/tippy toes = TrackIR.
Turn view left/right = Walkmode Left/Right keys/buttons.
Forwards = Walkmode Forward key/button - 'Walking' speed. Walkmode RUN key/button, Press & hold / Toggle or lean towards your monitor for 'running' speed.
Backwards = Walkmode Backwards key/button - 'Walking' speed.
Here's a quick demo of those options:
See post 06 - Optional edits - "Outside 'walking' alternatives" for the required preset 4 & 5 changes.
