No, I can't pin down anything that could cause these crashes. Now that
you have restored everything, sort of, could you then please do JUST
the first 3 steps in the first post once more. Then STOP there and check
if you get AA properly and if the game still crashes?
Thank you very VERY much!

No, I´ve got AA properly, but the game still crashes. However, as I said earlier, I´ve found a workaround: I change the scale to 400%, do all the shopping, then turn it back to 100% and play the game. Must be some weird harware issue...

Since you´ve already looked at my config and NPI settings, is there any room for improvement?

Thank you again, Sir. You´re very kind and helpful!

Well, sad to hear that didn't work either, but I will not give
up, so stay tuned. I will analyze more tomorrow. Regarding
any more settings I can assure you there's a lot more to look
for in the remaining parts of the first post and I can say that
priority is to set a FPS limit proper to get a constant FPS, as
that will give you a smoother experience of the game. I would
recommend that you look at setting e.g. r_vsync in the config.cfg
to "2" to get half monitor refresh rate as a FPS limit and also
setting t_averaging_window_length to double that limit, "60"
in your case. DON'T set in game the Refresh Rate to 59, let
it be set at Default! Start with that! More to come later!

Thanks! My monitor only suports v-sync, and its 60hz max. With my current settings (and with mirror distance tuned down) I have an almost constant 60 fps. It drops to 50 or something when It´s raining inside cities.

@Luisb01

Using the settings I gave you, you might raise the mirror quality and get a
much smoother experience, so test it. With this kind of game it's better
to get a stable constant FPS than a high as possible one.

Thanks! I´ve tried that... I´ve got a constant 30fps, but the game is not running smoothly, seems more like a slideshow... Any settings on NPI that I should configure?

Sorry, but we have to find out what's basically wrong with your setup,
because with your RTX2070, you should have a VERY nice experience
of the game. Have a look at the latest videos made by this Japanese
friend of mine. He has the same card as you have.

@BenganJ

Thank you for your help and time. I can get a pretty solid game with AA and 60fps 99% of the time. If I have to change scale settings to 400% before shopping and changing back to 100% after, to avoid crashes, that´s someting I can live with.

Thanks again!!

@Luisb01

But that's not the optimal way to run the game. Well, may I ask if you
EVER have run ReShade together with ETS2 or ATS?

Hi BenganJ!

No, I don´t use ReShade, because I read on the first post that it isn´t compatible with the AA solution. Is there a way to use it?

However, since yesterday I started using Nvidia Freestyle and I´m getting some pretty decent and nice effects with it, specially sharpening and toning down those bloomy highlights!

Thanks!

@JHTrucker - thank you for taking the time to comment/advise me on some better solutions.
I thought that's what you meant about single monitor file, I tried it and as you said....it looked rubbish :-) but game ran very smoothly indeed. I have spent the last 2 days trying all the different settings(as per Page 1 of forum) and have got it to a point that I am happy with. Ets2 seems to run a bit smoother than ATS but I have the vsync set to 4 so I will try setting them both to 2 as you suggest and am already using 2xAA from your suggestion yesterday. I haven't used all the suggested settings because when I did I lost a lot of colour and even using Freestyle could not seem to get back(so I went back to scratch and started again.
I did have a different multimon file which I found on another forum but it was for 3 screens only without the dummy one so the screen setup was the same as now. One thing I have noticed is that I no longer can change the rotation of my left screen(which is in portrait), right and middle are landscape. I was able to change the left screen view in config.cfg using the uset r_multimon_rotation_left by -90 but it no longer works nor does it work in the in game command console. Do you have any idea why this could be? I have looked in the multimon sii file(your triple one) but cannot see any possible way to do it. I turned it on end because I could not see my left mirrors properly in landscape and could not get it right even with a seat adjustment mod and changing the FOV.
Because the right monitor is landscape and I have got it so it is 3 inches from top of big screen and 3 inches from bottom of big screen it doesn't line up properly with anything as you commented on.
I think I understand where you are going with the suggestion and have been trying to picture it, another thought has come to mind and that is either lining the side screens with either the top or bottom of the main 40 inch one. Then using the full screen of both of the side ones and only part of the big one which corresponds to to the height of the small ones. The centre screen is 35 x 20 inches, left is 19 x 10.5 inches and right one is 18.5 x 11.5 inches and all screens are 60MHz, so using the smaller height, I would only be using 10.5 inches in height of big screen, if you get my drift. Is this possible and do you think it would look any good/better than the T shape?
If its not too much work and trouble I would appreciate the special multimon file you have kindly offered to give it a try at least.
Thank you for your time and help.
Toni
