Just an Idea

Guys,
I'm, like all of us, very sad about Sergey's passing, I truly am. May he rest in peace.
But I found something interesting a few day's back on a USB memory: The famous Kamaz 5490 truck which was made by Sergey a few years back. Unfortunately Sergey abandoned it, I don't know the exact reasons behind it. The truck still uses some of the old ETS system but I started to work on it. I fixed sounds and important definitions. The only thing missing is the lights, which are still using the old system.
My idea was to kind of redo this vehicle to keep Sergey's legacy alive, like the Swedish Island of our dear late friend BenganJ, so I need some tips to fix the lights. I searched the internet but could not find any tutorial to change the light, so I'm asking you if you could kindly point me into the right direction.
-What tools do I need?
-What exactly did change when SCS brought up new lights?
-And: Is it worth the work or has too much time passed?
