Trucking Diaries - TRL Map

Post by Arayas » March 28th, 2020, 11:15 pm

I've decided to start this topic, not because i have plenty of time to maintain it  but because we are in a Euro Truck Simulator community and there is a map out there more complex than any map available.
The Real Life Map.
Despite the fact this activity it's almost killing any available time for mapping or maintaining the forum (many thanks to Bengan for keeping this going  ) or mailing support, i want to take this trucking passion to the last level, driving in TRW Map.
Last time i was with another driver with experience and his truck. Now, i am on my own.
I will post here from time to time my experience, sometimes restricted by internet availability, for anyone to see some of the things outside the game.
Well....let's start.

Passing from My Summer Car to Euro Truck Simulator :D

In this map you need to uncover the trailer for loading and to tie up your cargo to be sure it's still there when you arrive to your destination. Not quite one hour of work.
Image

Another bad thing discovered on this map is the fact i had to spent 14 hours in a 20 km line to pass the border, so my delivery for friday was missed.
Staying in a gas station parking in Greece from friday night to monday morning to finally unload my cargo is not that bad, but is not like staying at home.

This is the place where you sit and drive for atleast 9 hours per day with just 45 minutes break ...
Image

...and sometimes the breakfast is not like going to a restaurant (or mapping at home)
Image

10 days later, 3 deliveries later, back at home with some 3500 km more than starting day.

Monday i will start over.

OH DAMN, this is going to be VERY interesting! Thanks for doing this Arayas!
I can remember when I followed my nephew, my sisters son, as he drove his
truck, a Peterbilt 359 to be exact, between his hometown Chicago (Illinois)
to Indianapolis (Indiana), Columbus (Ohio) and Detroit (Michigan) among
other cities too. This happened in the very late '90s and early 20's. in the
late first decade in the 20's I started to drive SCS's Long haul American truck
simulators and that was a fun world to discover, me being normally an IT-guy!
Arayas, please keep this rolling! It'll be good to hear how you've had it when
I hear nothing from you in a while! :D :D :D

Thank you Arayas. These are troubled times but it's great to see your sense of humour shining through.

@Arayas

What an adventure!!!! Yep, as long as those politicians can eat good on the best restaurants
in Brussels and be sponsored by the various lobby-parties letting them fill their pockets with
black money, why should they care? What a world we live in!!!! BAH!
