So I assumed, but other people ought to be informed of the missing 0!
I've started to write about this resource subject, but now I'm going to
attend Wombat's PART 3 of his Live Stream from Kirkenes to Aqaba!
See ya mate! :D

Here's a description of how I have interpreted SCS postings, mostly by Max, regarding
the following launch parameters or arguments.

1. -mm_max_resource_size, default value = 22, max value = 100, NL value = 90, my value = 32
2. -mm_max_tmp_buffers_size, default value = 112, max value = 1000, NL value = 1000, my value = 1000
3. -mm_pool_size, default value = ca. 500, max value = half memory, NL value = a bit less than installed memory, my value = a bit less than available memory

Note that these are LAUNCH OPTIONS and are for preallocated memory sizing. If the game,
when running, needs more memory, it will allocate it on the fly, but at the cost of time
or a lower FPS if you like.

The number of temporary buffers, used for loading resources like models, prefabs, textures
and such, can be calculated by the simple formula

(-mm_max_tmp_buffers_size / -mm_max_resource_size) - 1 [sometimes]

which gives the following number for the different configurations up there.

Default 112/22=5
Max 1000/22=44
NL 1000/90=10
My 1000/32=31

Obviously the game will work better with more memory resources preallocated at startup,
especially when using combo maps with a huge amount of different resources to handle. The
reason that NL is demanding -mm_max_resource_size = 90 is that it's HD skyboxes are around
87 MB big, so the buffers then need to be at least 90 MB. But that also means that the number
of them are pretty low compared to what you can get without those BIG resources.

The memory pool size is a memory area where the loaded resources are kept during the game
duration and will change dependant on where on the map you are. Also this area will be
expanded if necessary, but also here it will be at the cost of time, FPS drop. Sudden
freezes might be due to this and also the lack of free buffers described above.

@Dogbert

Can you tell me how much free memory you have left in that moment when you start ETS2 or
ATS, most of the time? I understand that it is dependant on a lot of things, but just give
me a number from one such moment!

@Dogbert

Not "while the game is starting up"! Right before you start the game. Use Task Manager
to see the memory left, then start the game. I want that value right before. :D

Without the game running and with TM open i am using 8% of my memory

With ETS2 running at start up and TM open, i am using 12% of my memory.

@Dogbert

DAMN you, you're sooooo spoiled! You could gladly raise the
-mm_pool_size to 10240 witout loosing the possibility for the
game itself and other proggs to grow in size while you play.

There is nothing installed on it to use any memory Bengt :lol: :lol: :lol:

Win10 Pro, Firefox 64x, Foobar2000 to play my music, ETS2 & ATS.

I don't use any other third part software.

Is 10240 good then buddy ?

Yes boss doing it now :D :D

I dumped Naruralux, using Next Gen and Grimes new summer mod.

I will donate to NG when 1.8 is released.

Thanks very much for the help Bengt.

EDIT: Game runs smooth and i like the summer textures and the flowers that Grimes uses.

Game loads a lot quicker without Naturalux as well.
