I want to change the background map

I followed a lot of tutorials how to do so

but I keep getting this

Yes, you're doing something wrong. First of all I want you to post the latest editor.log.txt file.
Second, which area are you going to map and in which scale?

Ok first of all

I want a map background for africa in 1:1 scale as a try

as I said I am just a beginner and just want to start mapping

Wow! Do you have children? Because mapping Africa in a scale of 1:1 will take
generations. Even in the standard scale of 1:19 you probably will not make it
in your lifetime. Reconsider my friend! Further, the DDS backgraund must be
in a certain map projection if mapping in 1:19. From where did you get the
background image data? Also, there's certain limitations for the Editor BG.
I'll have a look at the log now.

EDIT: These error says a lot of your problems. and
The last error comes in hundreds! Even road segments have limits, both in
too long ones and too short ones. So, in short, you will have to re-think and
study the art of using the Map Editor very much more before you can start.

Haha No I am not willing to map the hole Africa .
It's just not available in the original base background

the background I got it from google . is that a problem ??
