Editing a Map Mod!

Hi guys.

Can anybody help me to laod a map mod so i can edit? I mean i guess i have to load that mod right?
For example i want to add some roads and towns to YKSRSK. Or maybe i want to make a connection to a map mod... How i can do it. Cause i can't open the map editor if i simply put the mod to folder. It gives error.

So is it possible?

First of all, have you watched Arayas video tutorials on map editing?
Second I want to know how you try to start the editor!

I am watching his videos offcourse.

First i tryd to open as ''-edit YKSRSK'', but it didn't open anything. After that, i did open the editor with ''-edit europe'', then i tryed to load the YKSRSK from the base / map folder. Again nothing happened :P

You dont open the game (sience 1.36) and simply use console to open a map. That is obsolete. Create a shrtcut to the ets2.exe file and in TARGET properties of that shortcut add after "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Euro Truck Simulator 2\bin\win_x64\eurotrucks2.exe" -edit yksrsk

We've already told him that and note, he's got a minus sign ahead of it, -edit!

BTW, caps wont work in editor commands

ok here is my problem... We spoke with Benganj about it before and i tought i resolved it then but looks like i couldn't :P
  • I created a shortcut for this exe: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Euro Truck Simulator 2\bin\win_x64\eurotrucks2.exe"
  • I added this commend: -edit europe -force_mods -noworkshop -mm_max_resource_size 100 -mm_max_tmp_buffers_size 1000
  • I try to start the exe but its allways crashing
  • I also tryed it for 32 bit exe but same result
So i simply can't start the editor with shortcut. Why i am saying so is because of i can start the editor trough to the steam and with ''32 bit''
This is strange cause 64bit is not working here.

Yes, mod folder is empty and the game is on windowed mode.

Benganj sorry if this appears as double post :D
I thing vr setup messed up somethings here. After the VR i can't even lunch the game as none-VR.
I think first i have to reverse from the VR with uninstalling all the VR compenent, then i will try to make a clean install of the game...

Okay, you should place this line right after the path to the EXE file in the shortcut, like this.

Code: Select all

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Euro Truck Simulator 2\bin\win_x64\eurotrucks2.exe" -edit europe -force_mods -noworkshop -mm_max_resource_size 100 -mm_max_tmp_buffers_size 1000
And when starting up the editing project you have to place all map info mods in the mod folder,
the base/map folder can be empty in the first place. Try again mate, be stubborn! :D

You used editor before? If so delete "editor" folder from Documents/ETS 2 folder.

I just resolved my problem with a clean uninstall. I deleted everything about the ets (inclueding the cache file).
Now i can lunch the editor.

However i still can't lunch the yksrsk.
Says : ''Failed to load map file''
I just have the YKSRSK map on the mod folder.
