@Arayas

Damn, you're always fast! But this last SCS version is odd in many ways! Thanks!

Actualy the editor is going in the right direction with new features every version. It's weird, but nice, for me to close the editor and not care about importing sectors or templates. Curves, hight-tool and so on are great. The game is not going well, but i dont care sience i dont play it.

@Arayas

Right, now you have all in the same folder and as long as you are in the Editor, you don't have to
pack your saved date to get it loaded next time you start the Editor.

I have a free tool (Cobian Back-up) who is saving the user_map folder twice a day in a back-up archive...so, i am covered from critical situations anyway.

Thanks Arayas! Will give this a go later. This seems much better than the old ways.

Edit: Got custom signs working thanks. Only problem I am facing now, is getting my own map background to show in the actual game.

It shows in the Editor fine, but when loading the .mbd to test in game I still get Europe. I've tried both editor_data.sii/sui files as it said to add a custom map to one of them. Looking at project japan that works fine, I don't know what I am doing wrong.

I am got over one hurdle at least.

Hello...
I’m sorry to come back, but I crash when I try hard 1.40.
I tried to follow the instructions quoted in another page,
I changed to user_map, it crashes,
I moved it into mod, it crashes,
I added the "-no_user_map_mount", it crashes,
I deleted the "free_camera_uplift: 8.5, it crashes....
I don’t know what to test anymore...

The log editor tells me:
00:00:01.571 : <WARNING> [mod] Mod package 'user_map' does not contain a manifest file 'manifest.sii', creating default information set.
00:00:01.571 : [fs] device C:/Users/mirit/OneDrive/Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/mod/user_map mounted.
00:00:01.571 : [mod_package_manager] Mod "user_map" has been mounted. (package_name: user_map, version: , source: User mods)
00:00:01.777 : <ERROR> [unit] File '<C:/Users/mirit/OneDrive/Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/mod/Bartoland.scs | >/def/editor_data.sii', line 14:
00:00:01.777 : <ERROR> [unit] The unit '.edit_data' of type 'editor_data' has no attribute named 'free_camera_uplift'.
00:00:01.777 : <ERROR> load_unit_tree() - Failed to load unit tree from file (/def/editor_data.sii)
Could you just tell me how to place my files and folders to continue my map...
thanks to you...

he unit '.edit_data' of type 'editor_data' has no attribute named 'free_camera_uplift'.
00:00:01.777 : <ERROR> load_unit_tree() - Failed to load unit tree from file (/def/editor_data.sii)

remove that line from your editor_data.sii

make sure your files are in place and add -force mods to your shortcut command.
