Oh, you're doing splendidly Arayas, I talked about the processing YouTube does
AFTER you've clicked the Publish button. It will always take some time before
the full quality of your video is presented to the watcher!

I've sworn as hell here over the bad behavior of the Brush Tool in Map Editor!
Now you've taught me exactly why I couldn't get it to work! Thank you
for that. Now i can make my grass terrain look more diverse! :D

Arayas, I've searched many times for a good tutorial about Map Editing, found some,
but they ALL suffer from the fact that they are NOT FINISHED! So, these episodes
of yours are going to be a VERY GOOD FINISHED TUTORIAL! Hat off for that!

Speaking about brushes, Grimes said that he get problems with his Frosty
mod from the increasing use of brushes. They color the snow, he says. With
the old stamp tool he had no problems, they were in some way in the /def
structure. That way he could deal with it, but that doesn't work for brushes,
as they are not "defined" in the same way! Maybe SCS will come up with
something in this regard later.

In fact, i am more than pleased with SCS new system because we can brush prefabs terrain also, a feature not available until 1.31.
We had brushed roads area and perfectly green prefab area, looking odd.
I'm sure Grimes will found out that he needs to convert ALL terrain materials to white or partialy white for his mod because when you assign a certain terrain material type to a road (terrain, prefab) you are gonna use exact definitions like in Brush case, they are the same. The grass_city_fr for example it's not gonna look white next to the road and green when brushed, because they both call for the same texture file.
The stamp has nothing to do with terrain material it was just a pre-defined form of the brush itself. SCS simplified that leaving the brush to have different size and form without making a "stamp" definition.
The real problem for Grimes is in custom materials not standard ones.

Okay, here in Sweden we have a saying, " Ingen vila, ingen ro!", approximately
"No rest, no peace!". One more episode to digest! :D  Arayas, it's hard to
keep up to your pace!

Yeah, I laughed during the whole episode, but the start was delicious!
The part with the 'cut planes' was interesting as always, but I think you forgot to
tell that they are VERY powerful items. I've used them extensively in my map, and
especially the one dealing with the ferry connection between Fårösund and Fårö on
the island Gotland is quite sophisticated, if I may say so! But you'll only see that if
you load the map in the Map Editor! It's a damn fun hobby we've got! Challenging! :D

Yes you are right but i wanted to do this to explain how it works. I'm sure you know, you didnt asked much for help making the map, how scarse are informations on this editor matter in general. My goal here is to make the user avoid days and months of pure experimenting to find how editor works and how to edit stuff. I did this making my map and this is why early areas are pretty primitive and more diversified as it goes further.

oh, I know that both you and I mostly learned by doing and practice is a must,
but I'm the first to REALLY appreciate what you're doing here! I've already
pointed people here, or rather the YouTube page, if they say that they would
like to be able to map. You're so creative and just look at that funeral part in
the latest video, episode 10, the smile is there immediately and that makes
it easier to learn too! You'd be a marvelous teacher Arayas! :D :D :D :D :D

I've got to get out of this bad habit of double-posting all the time! :D
But I've seen a discussion over at the SCS forum, in the Coast to Coast
topic for ATS, talking about something Mantrid calls 'Far model'! What
do you know about that Arayas? Is it something new? Or is it just a way
for SCS to tell which models SHOULD have the 'Display visibility' set to
'far'?
