Standalone map
Standalone map
Hello guys,
I am new on this forum and have a question about standalone map.
I have made a complete new map, include city's, company's and borders.
But a i break my head on 1 thing i can't figure out.
If i save my map and i want to play it, i can't see my own map. I only see the default europe map. If i rename my .mbd and the map with sectors to europe i can see my own map, but i see also the rest of the europe default map.
What do i wrong? Did i forget something? Can you explain to me how i can play my standalone map in game?

When you put your map into a profile and then before running that profile,
you should also choose a Module and you should then choose the original
name of your .mbd file! Try that and report back!

Re: Standalone map
Then i did or do something wrong. I can't change the option for the module. Only the europe map is selected. So i think i don't have all the files edit what i need for a standalone map.
And if i download a map from the internet and i put that map in my mod folder, i can play that map without seeing other city's. So i am wondering are that standalone maps or add-ons. Maybe i make there my mistake.

Yes, but you said you renamed the map files. DON'T do that! And
after you have activated your map alone in a profile you should
be able to choose Module as <name of your map>.mbd.

Re: Standalone map
I did some test the last couple of days, rename de .mdb and keep the original .mbd. But nothing helpt.
Now for some reason (or it is this forum ) it works now. Thanks i can play my own map now.
So to make it clear for my head.
If i download a map from the internet it is a add-on map?
If i create my own map and make a new profile and activate there my map mod it is a standalone map?
Happy trucking!

@Pancreas
No, that is NOT true. I'll try to explain to you.
1. You can download BOTH ADDON and STANDALONE maps from the Internet.
2. It is the creator of the map that decides if the map should be one or the
--- the other kind by naming his map europe (folder) and europe.mbd (file),
--- or <mapnane> (folder) and <mapname>.mbd
3. If the map is an ADDON, for ETS2 it then exist ONLY europe (Module) and
-- for STANDALONE there will be 2 choices for Module, europe and mapname.mbd.
I don't know if this makes it clearer for you, but just ask if anything is unclear!
