Perhaps when saving your boards and templates, you need to choose the correct path from above in a small window, this change has come recently. Now I can't say for sure what it is called correctly, since there is no desktop at hand, but something like a base map instead of a map. I can explain later how I will get to this
Using the Map Editor

Re: Using the Map Editor
Well I finally managed to get it done...
Apparently there are boards that - by default come with several different layouts (templates) - for those I could create a new template without problems - but once I select one that has fixed template assigned, then I am not able to get it to work...
Oh, and just in case somebody wondered, why I needed just another template for Norway...

Yeah, I did that watched one of those helpful videos from Arayas and basically sticked to that procedure one-by-one and it didn't work unless you select a multi-template board.09_KZ wrote: ↑January 6th, 2021, 7:43 pmPerhaps when saving your boards and templates, you need to choose the correct path from above in a small window, this change has come recently. Re: Using the Map Editor
I have started a new map in the Editor, but for some reason when I press W and S for forwards and backwords it rotates the view, like it is going from morning to night really quick. Top down view is fine, but I would like freecam to place objects better. I have started maps before but NEVER seen it do this. Any ideas?
I am on 1.39 I have the map.mbd loaded, base_map etc all done.

Re: Using the Map Editor
@Wing
You have created /base_map/map structure, NOT /base/map as it was before?
Are you starting the editor with a shortcut like the one below, where MAPNAME
equals the name of your map?

Code: Select all
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam.exe" -applaunch 227300 -edit MAPNAME -force_mods -noworkshop -mm_max_resource_size 100 -mm_max_tmp_buffers_size 1000
Re: Using the Map Editor

but I have still error..

Thanks you For your advise

Re: Using the Map Editor
@Wing
Did you also create the folder map in the /base_map folder?
That structure should be like this, /base_map/map.

Re: Using the Map Editor
base_map is NOT placed in "my documents/euro truck simulator 2" but in the root folder of the game itself, in my case
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Euro Truck Simulator 2\base_map
When something is not working like it did for me in tutorials, ITS pretty clear that you have a mistake somewhere.(not just you, anyone in general)
