Can I safely change my setup from 1.45 to 14.6(or 1.47 when it be ready) in current save, or should I start a new profile?

U can change, but u need to delete maps mods that are incompatible.

Hello,
yes you surely can, but what you need to watch out with are that some mods may or may not work.
What we can recommend you is to at least start of fresh with the Map Mods so that is all up to date (And maybe with the other mods too).
