Maybe i am not a likeable person, maybe i am too agressive sometimes (i didnt get the nickname Lethal growing flowers), maybe is better to overlook some things...
But, whatever you do for people, for a community, is not enough. You are still a cockroach who needs to be mocked, destroyed and treat it like a low grade human.
I have said many times, when it comes to Roex mapping i am the only one doing it.
Out of respect for the friends/family who are helping me with many backstage things (site, forum, mailing, databases, bills, mass file editing, file management, advices) when they have time and without any interest i call this group a TEAM.

But doesnt matter what i do, i must isolate myself from YouTube streams, Discords and all other community activities because i annoy people like this inteligent user.
Probably he has no problem using my work, he doesnt care about bills i have to pay for this platform, i am actualy ashamed that i have to ask 1 euro/3 months for my work or 4 euro/life (the rest is Paypal).
I promise i will not bother anyone with my presence, i will be quiet like a mouse in any matter and i will make a weekly report for this inteligent guy regarding my work schedule, my "funding" and all, because he is so busy taking care of my good will and off course, he is working infinite times more than me for this community.
Sorry SIR, i promise i will work harder and for free, i will go to my job to make money to pay the bills here, and maybe one day you, as an important leader of this community, will allow me to go on with my cockroach existence.
Thank you so much, mister Tilen!

If such people created a project like Roex project once, they would never make such nonsense! :dash2:

At first I thought it was an offensive post by Tilen causing him to be banned here, but no,you`re even great to cheer-up Arayas,he makes mods alone but so much but results him to lose his personal life and his net and electricity charges but $3 is the most reasonable price i`ve ever seen of an map mod.It is bad to make greedy money off modding sites like sharemods.

When i talk about bills i am talking about hosting, domain, site licence, dedicated IP, server space, electronic certificates and so on, not electric bills.
All the RC's, Turkey, Roex 2.3, fixes for other maps, mods... are free. Not to talk about mail/forum support (Wombat has a Discord channel and many people to help him, by comparison).
Maybe is time to warm up my truck engine and earn some real money.

I think part of the frustration of some people is the tone. But I think a much bigger issue is miscommunication. Perhaps it's due to the language barrier. Perhaps personal thoughts and issues aren't articulated properly. Whatever the case, this ends up creating a big misunderstanding and can cause unnecessary conflict. The latest drama with the map background and Bengan is such a case. It's not like Bengan was at any fault, but he didn't explain things clearly and so it was difficult to understand what the issue was. Eventually he made some very detailed and more clear posts about what the issue is. We're all only human so it's to be expected. But sadly that also makes it harder for others to consider that the person might be trying to say something else.

For my own personal experience with RoEx, I first tried the mod when one premium version was free. I ended up being very toxic with Caperios about the map. But I will stick to my opinion that Arayas' work was not that great back then. I saw Eastern Ukraine from Wombat's video about a month ago and I was really impressed so I decided to give it a go. I even bought the premium version, I felt like experimenting. When I went to the Western parts I wasn't horribly impressed but I didn't find it bad either. So I kept thoroughly exploring areas and gradually going more East. I think the first "oh" moment hit me when I reached Kiev. I already had some hints of cool mapping when I went to the Kovel area but the roads around Kiev were really cool. While I didn't think Kiev was perfectly laid out, there was enough effort that I was just genuinely enjoying myself. The map went from my first impressions of bad years ago to pretty good. Then I went a bit further into the East and my impressions went into genuinely good. I think the mapping work and quality has genuinely improved a lot since the old days. I have about 13 or so RoEx cities left to explore and some roads but I'm looking forward to it.

What I'm saying with that impression is that you can really get an egg on your face moment. I had a clear bias with the mod. I still love other mods too, like Promods, Southern Region, Rusmap, Great Steppe. But I don't mind RoEx joining that group of mods for me at this point. I think the map background drama really irritated me the most in that there's toxic people in both the RoEx and Promods community which would do nothing else but cause trouble for modders. In a trucking game that just sounds ridiculous.

I'm sorry I was being a jerk about it Arayas. While I think your work sucked, your current work is genuinely great that I end up lurking this thread with excitement when you post something new. I discuss what was posted with a friend and wonder "how accurate will this new location be" while also just enjoying how it looks visually.

I also have this hidden wish that Moldova could get rebuilt. But you've said several times that rebuilds are not your priority. Still, getting the Moldova roads remade along with some new assets from the Moldova to Odessa road would be cool. If your map overrides Promods work in this area I honestly wouldn't mind. I'll have the option of choosing 2 different quality works for a few countries. I already have a profile specifically for PM (which is especially needed considering the compatibility problems that arose).

Thank you for your awesome work!

Thank you for a such detailed "first post".
Yes, Roextended was the map of a guy who opened the editor a month earlier, did Romania in 37 days, 45 cities. Quantity and speed was essential for me then because i wanted the area. Also the materials were pretty simple back then.
In time, as a guy who opened the editor 2.5 years ago, i have other perspective and i know my mistakes. If i am giving abrasive advices to people who are starting maps now, is because i dont want to see them doing my mistakes.
About rebuilt...now i supose to start Crimeea, but...
not Moldova, the entire map is in full rework right now, removing any road or prefab older than Baltic DLC. 5% are from Italy because there are no similar options in newer ones. Vegetation is changed to later one. Signs are bilingual now and changed on entire map and simple ones are no longer from Germany or so.
The terrain was changed in all older parts. I hated Chisinau and erase it in latest versions. Now is new. The same with Uzghorod. Belgorod is maded from scratch. I lost a day changing all roads and prefabs from Kharkiv. Now in Donetsk. And so on.
With all this changes, the map is already looking different. You will see in 2.7. And in Sibiu.
I also mind drama's, but sometime some people should keep their opinion for themselfs. Most likely if you dont bring nothing productive for the subject. And when you speak your mind but you already choosed a side, it became irrelevant.
Thank you, enjoy the map.

Arayas, I just wanted to say that no matter what, you will always have a community of supporters of your map. No matter who complains or talks shit about your work, there will always be 100x more people who love your work. Keep this in mind when you see something toxic. Also, keep in mind that you can raise your price for the PPM. You said that 2.7 will be a polished, updated version of the old areas of the map with some reworked cities, this means the quality will be more or less consistent in all areas. So why not charge more for your work? If people can pay 15€ for 15-20 cities, they could pay 10€ for about 50 cities with free regular updates. It's something to think about, no?

No, the PPM program was a way to avoid working for PayPal. Also to make a clear line between people who are really interested into the map and ocasional users. Because from my experience the most rude critics i've discovered to be from the group of people who are NOT using ROEX. Because "someone" said is a really bad map.
This way, i receive critics from people who are suporters of my work and that is a fair deal. And the price is fair for me. And for the community.
