Right, and that page states that you need two DL's, the first is what you've got,
a direct DL from Sharemods. The second is the core files, which means the defmap
mod via PayPal. If I am correct here you should have got the mod there or an email
sent to you with instructions. Am I right?

Yes, but I kind of accidently deleted the email. Whoopsie.
EDIT: I found the def map file, it was just sitting on my desktop and I didn't even notice it.

I do not understand. I haven't received email updates for a long time. And now I can't find any link where to download the core files. I even tried to pay that 1.4 euros but claim that not all the fields are filled in correctly.
