Re: ROEXTENDED 2.7 [1.38]

Post by Arayas » August 28th, 2020, 12:26 pm

Any opinion is welcomed.
I did road connections for 17 versions of Roex. Not to talk about Turkey. Sometimes 2 for a version.
In this time, despite the fact the "Promods Eurasia combo" or other combo's worked great with my RC's, Promods always told people to remove Roextended because is not compatible.
Now they like making RC with Roextended, just a coincidence on timing, when they are going for Ukraine. Maybe i am crazy and imagine things. But everyone can have a conclusion about the real situation here.
Feel free to consider what you want, my opinion is subjective because i know, me, and people like Sergey, how many hours i have spent infront of my monitor to redo a 8 sectors road connection just because Promods changed a sign and a trash can.

For the past few months, you've been complaining that ProMods doesn't want to work with other maps and that we should make compatibility easier. Now we are doing that by creating our own road connections with various other map mods. Aka ***we are literally doing what you asked us to do*** However, now you are complaining that we shouldn't have created a connection. So which is it?

Our connection is for the free version of RoEx, we've said it is only compatible with that version, we can't be blamed if people try it with the paid version as well.

And now the RoEX EULA basically bans the creation of any new road connections, so I guess that even though we've listened to your complaints, we can't continue to maintain a road connection without breaking RoEx's EULA. Basically you're saying that we are not allowed to to take action on your complaints because in doing so we will break the EULA which means we're now being actively prevented from improving compatibility.

I'm sorry but if anything is going to work out here, you need to be absolutely clear on what you want us to do and not do, because the current situation is that you've taken a U-turn from what you were saying a few weeks ago

@bricksathome

What a nice view of reality you have, mate! Here Promods have hired a lot of bulldozers
to pave the way for it's mappers into other mappers areas and you have the stomach to
say you're doing, what those mappers want! Why does that pattern of behavior reminds
me of other BIG peoples doing in this world? Hmmmm!

Ok, if we want to avoid sticking to the topic of road connections we can do that too.

The argument that ProMods is trying to kill off other map mods is a stupid view to have and is simply incorrect. I've said it before and you didn't believe me, but ProMods Devs get to choose where they work, there are no restrictions other than staying out of disputed areas. The developer that decided to work in Ukraine didn't even know that RoEx existed when he began (and back then RoEx was a much smaller mod)

The situation is that any road connection made now *will* overwrite *someone's* work. That can't be avoided at this point. So the fairest solution is either to have no road connection, or have two road connections (on with PM cities, one with RoEx ones)

It would be greatly appreciated if you can give us some actual constructive feedback about how this issue can be resolved rather than throwing pointless insults around and avoiding the topic entirely. Thanks

@bricksathome

From history I have also learned that it is of no use at all to argue with people like you,
so hereby I rest my case and let you say whatever you want, I will not interfere, unless
you behave in an improper way.

Inform Promods they can upload their Road Connection wherever they want. I'm not gonna get it down.

Use it with ROEX 2.3.5 ONLY!!!!

For Roex 2.7 i will publish in the next hours a proper RC (for Turkey an updated one just with fixes for file conflicts not road structure).

And this will put an end to this disscution.
I will take steps to make your road connection incompatible with premium version to avoid confusions and map breaking.
I will even publish your RC on the main Roextended site, if its ok with you.
Stick with the free version and i will do my stuff for premium users. If you need something ask.

I look at what I see from the side - a specific hybrid war is underway - the victims are here and there will be more and it will be hard to identify the winners .....
I have not used Promods and I am not going to, I have enough what I have in the combo and I am happy :D

Their problem, created by them. Maybe they realise now it was better to expand Scandinavia or Greece than arguing with people.

I've been looking on their discord and like you'd expect they've been trash talking and being major dicks and unwilling to concede on any argument.
:offtopic:

Nice response mate. I'm happy your gonna get huge backlash now.
